The seminar website became a seminar management system.

BSB-Akademie wanted to put its seminars online itself. Over the course of the project, that became a seminar management system that also handles the admin work around the seminars.

Home page of bsb-akademie.de: on the left “Ihr Partner für Weiterbildung” (your partner for professional training) and a button to view the seminars, on the right a speaker at a flip chart on the topic of co-determination.

Starting point

At the start, the only thing certain was that the owner wanted to create his seminars himself and show them online. What he needed for that, we worked out together in the specification.

The owner has been running seminars for works councils, HR managers and managing directors since 2008. For a long time, that went through a platform that brokers seminars. Then he wanted to go independent, with his own academy and his own website.

What we built

  1. A specification before the first page.

In the specification we described how the academy works: who registers and how, and who gets the invoice? That became the scope of the job. The site shows the seminars and also handles everything around them.

  2. Registration the way participants need it.

Participants register on their own or as a group. People who call in are entered by the academy itself. Anyone who has had an invoice before is recognized and not created twice. The registration later also produces the invoice, as an e-invoice on request.

  3. From seminar day to certificate.

At the end of the seminar day, participants give their feedback via QR code. The academy prints the attendance list as a PDF, and forms are on the site to download. It sends the certificates of attendance by email with one click. Newsletters and group emails to everyone booked on a date go out from the same system.

A seminar in the management system: from the page on the web to the certificate after the last day.
A seminar page on a phone: on the left price, duration and dates, on the right registration for two people.

How the scope grew

Every week we agreed with the client what would come next and what it would cost.

What started as a website is now a system for the whole administration. The scope grew step by step.

Result

The academy’s own site has been online since October 4, 2026. The academy manages registrations, participants and certificates in the same system.

Since October 11, it has also been sending the certificates of attendance straight from the management system.

Tech

The academy maintains seminars, dates and registrations itself in the admin area, and an illustrated guide is stored right there. The site comes with over 1,600 automated tests and click-throughs in the browser, at desktop and phone size.
