01Starting point
Anyone who wanted to order gravel or topsoil had to call and do the math themselves first.
Until now, topsoil, gravel and chippings were ordered by phone, often over several calls. How many tons is 40 square meters at 20 centimeters deep? When is a truck free? Do you deliver to my place?
People who didn’t know the material guessed the amount and were often off. So most orders came from customers who already knew the material.

What we built
- 01
The shop calculates in tons.
You enter area and depth, and the shop uses the material’s bulk density to work out the tons and the price. From around 25 tons it tells you that’s more than one load.
- 02
Zone and date come before checkout.
Your address is checked against the delivery area, 35 kilometers around Dinslaken. After that you only see days with room left in the delivery schedule. Two customers can’t book the same last slot at the same time. Shipping costs are made up of a base fee, tonnage and distance.
- 03
Why not Shopify.
Price, freight carrier, delivery days, tons and the right truck with its capacity all depend on each other. Shopify or WooCommerce can’t model these rules. So we built the shop ourselves, with Laravel and a dedicated admin area for the dealer.
- 04
Clear rules at checkout.
Five steps: address, date, add-ons, payment, confirmation. If you buy topsoil, the shop suggests sod. You confirm with a checkbox that delivery only goes to the curb. The invoice comes as an e-invoice.
03Result
An order arrives complete: quantity in tons, verified address, booked date, paid.
The dealer no longer has to call back to redo the math, and the customer doesn’t need to know how much a cubic meter of gravel weighs. So even someone buying material for their garden for the first time can order.
“We had tried this before with another provider. Back then it got stuck on calculating quantity, delivery zone and date. Zeasy Software made it work.”
04The calculation chain
The tonnage determines the truck, the truck the free capacity on the delivery day, the distance the price.
If a number in the cart changes, the shop recalculates truck, delivery day and price before anyone pays.
05Tech
The rules for quantity, truck and price live in our own code, not in plugins. So a third-party update can’t break them. Before every release, a test program clicks through the order flow in the browser, from the quantity calculator to checkout.
