00 / Custom software · Cost

Custom software development, for when off-the-shelf software doesn’t fit.

Custom software is a program built for your business instead of a whole market. Whether you need one, we work out in the intro call. If the right thing can be bought off the shelf, we tell you there.

Intro call €0€130 + VAT per hour of work

01 / Off the shelf or your own

First we check whether it already exists.

Between buying off the shelf and building everything yourself, there are steps in between. Which one fits you depends on how you work.

  • 01

    Off the shelf is enough

For accounting, email or calendars there are programs that many businesses share. If one of them fits how you work, take it and skip the new build.

    Off the shelf, connected

Turkish Home sells through Shopify, a ready-made shop system. What we built on top is the sync with the till: every morning the prices come from the retailer’s POS system into the shop.

    Our product for your industry

For two industries we already have the software. Vehicle registration services (Zulassungsdienste) use Zularis, restaurants use SnackUp. We run both ourselves.

    Built from scratch

If your workflow fits no program, we build one around it. BSB-Akademie wanted to set up its seminars itself. Today registration, participants and certificates run in one system there.

02 / Our products

Two industries get ready-made software from us.

For vehicle registration services and restaurants we built the software once and have run it ourselves ever since. If you run that kind of business, we recommend the product instead of a new build. Prices and details are on the product websites. Anything beyond that we build for you separately.

03 / Industries

Who we’ve built for so far.

Four client projects and two in-house products, from continuing education to rail operations. Each one has a case study that says what we built and what it changed in daily operations.

Back then it got stuck on calculating quantity, delivery zone and date. Zeasy Software made it work.

05 / What it costs

What custom software costs depends on the hours.

We bill by effort, €130 + VAT per hour of work. A whole system the size of Zularis costs from €45k. There’s no minimum for a small tool.

You pay in stages, 25% up front for each stage. Once the system is live, changes of up to one hour of work are included in maintenance. Anything bigger gets a price before we start, at the hourly rate from the project, even in the third year.

06 / How it works

Two days with you, then week by week.

Before we build, we spend two days at your business and watch how the work gets done. That gives us the specification and the quote. We build in one-week sprints, and each one ends with a demo you get to see.

07 / Questions

Questions about custom software.

What is custom software?
Software built for one business instead of a whole market. It follows your workflow, and your workflow doesn’t have to follow it. Two examples of ours: the seminar management for BSB-Akademie and the order shop for Baustoff Express, which works out tonnage, delivery area and date on its own.
When is custom software worth it?
When no off-the-shelf program covers your workflow and you still need it every day. Often it’s a spreadsheet the business depends on, or two programs with someone retyping data between them. If something ready-made will do, we tell you in the intro call.
How much does custom software cost?
We bill by the hour, €130 + VAT per hour of work. A system like Zularis costs from €45k, and there’s no minimum for a small tool. The intro call and cost estimate cost €0. The project assistant gives you a first range in four questions.
How long does development take?
That depends on the scope. We built Bremshelfer in one month, and the shop for Baustoff Express from May to July 2026. At BSB-Akademie the scope grew along the way: started in May 2026, online since October, and the work goes on.
Who owns the software?
You do. The source code lives in your repository, the logins in your accounts. Whatever is signed off and paid for belongs to you, even if you stop working with us afterwards.
Do you work nationwide?
Yes. Our office is in Duisburg, and our clients come from all over Germany. Calls happen by phone, and before we build a system, we come to your business for two days.
I run a vehicle registration service or a restaurant. Will you still build me something of my own?
First we check whether our product is enough: Zularis for vehicle registration services, SnackUp for restaurants. Prices and details are on zularis.de and getsnackup.de. If something is missing there, we talk about what can be built on top.

Tell us briefly about your project

The intro call costs nothing, and neither does the cost estimate after it. If what you need can be bought off the shelf, we tell you its name and send no invoice.
